This Christmas, the Foodchain youth events program gives the gift of free recording time to 12 local bands and six days of free live music to the public.
Visit the Real to Reel Recording Studio at 278 William Street, Northbridge between December 18 and 23.
Recording takes place between approximately 12 and 1:30pm and 2 and 3:30pm each day.
Sound engineer Laurie Sinagra and photographer Elizabeth Stacey will capture the action as bands come in, set up, record as many tracks as possible, and get out within a couple of hours.
Real to Reel enables audiences to access the purely physical experience of watching live music while exposing them to the equally important intricacies of the recording studio.
Come by and watch your favourite bands demystify the recording process, then check out the pics and download the tracks for free later that night.
